Upgrading the capacity of your weapon will refill your ammo. Similarly, upgrading the health of your armor will refill your health.

Green crates can be opened for extra loot. Use the stomp attack to open them up - this'll save you ammo and give you a chance to kill enemies on the rare chance that they are hiding inside.
